Gloucester represented at NYC food trade show

Gloucester County was well represented at a major trade show in New York City in late June.

Sherry Spring, Gloucester’s economic development director, helped promote this region and the state as a whole during the Fancy Food Show on June 25-27 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. This is the largest specialty food show in the United States, she said.

Spring didn’t have a booth, but instead “walked the floor” to promote this area and the state. She attended with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.

Whitley’s Peanuts, located at Hayes, had a booth at the show. Spring said there were approximately 2,500 booths set up at the large center.

“We made some sales there,” said Victoria Revell, marketing specialist for Whitley’s Peanuts. She said the company set up a display of its products, featuring its top selling large Virginia salted peanuts.
