Gloucester Relay for Life to be held Friday

The 2017 Gloucester Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday in the Gloucester High School stadium.

The opening ceremonies kick off at 6 p.m., followed by the Survivor lap at 6:15, the Caregiver lap at 6:20, the Sponsor lap at 6:25 and the Team Spirit lap at 6:30 p.m.

The evening has a Dr. Seuss theme, with theme-related laps beginning at 6:45. A speaker takes the stage at 8:30, followed by the Remember ceremony at 9 p.m. The theme-related activities resume at 9:30 and continue to midnight when the Fight Back ceremony will be held.

Other activities include the campsite competition at 8 p.m. and the scavenger hunt at 10 p.m. There will also be adult games and kids’ field activities. ...
