More than $2 million in matching grant funds will be awarded to 197 local tourism programs across the state, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced Monday, including four grants awarded in Gloucester County.
These awards are funded through the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Marketing Leverage Program, Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program, and VA250 Tourism Marketing Program.
Three of the four Gloucester grants were funded through the Marketing Leverage Program, which is a reimbursable grant program to leverage existing marketing funds available to Virginia travel industry partners including small businesses, attractions, accommodations, events, and destination marketing organizations.
The local grants funded through the Marketing Leverage Program are $9,450 to the Camp Cardinal RV Resort for the Virginia Wine Camp: Party on the Half Shell; $10,657.50 to the Gloucester Main Street Association for Taste Test on Main; and $4,500 to Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism for Park It I...
