Gloucester Point couple starts Beach House Bottlecap Art

Gloucester Point residents Paul and Pam Cochrane recently started a new business, Beach House Bottlecap Art, which sells a unique form of artwork using discarded beer bottlecaps. 

 

After visiting a local art gallery and seeing a primitive piece of art using bottlecaps, Paul Cochrane said he didn’t want to spend $700 for the piece of art and said, “Let me see if I can make it myself.”

 

After making several successful pieces of art using the bottlecaps, Cochrane began selling them to friends. “Then, it just went from there,” he said.

 

He said he started out making basic fish and then branched out to other forms of sea life. 

 

Cochrane and his wife collect bottlecaps from the Yorktown Pub two times a week and create the artwork from their home’s garage.
