Beginning this month, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is taking its Pet Pantry on the road to have a more direct impact on the community. “We’re excited for the opportunity,” said GMHS Communications & Development Manager Caitlin Donnelly. The Pet Pantry was initially set up as a once-a-month pick-up service for clients through an application process. Now, GMHS will be at the Bread for Life Community Food Pantry the third Monday of each month from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Living Waters Church in Dutton from 9-11 a.m. the last Saturday of each month. GMHS will have pet food available in its intake lobby the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. All Pet Pantry distributions will be available until supplies last. “Fed is best,” said Donnelly about the pivot in pet food distribution. “We want these pets to stay in their loving homes with their loving families.” GMHS did a trial run of its new mobile Pet Pantry on Jan. 19 at Bread for Life. “We ran out of pet foo...
