Gloucester hair salon adds beautician

Sandy Booker recently became an independent contractor, renting booth space at Hair Works, located near the Gloucester Post Office.

Booker, who has more than 30 years’ hair care experience, now trades as A New Creation Hair Salon. She operates her business full-time.

Booker is state licensed and offers a variety of services, including hair color, perms, razor cuts, shampoo and set, manicures and pedicures. Also, she offers a paraffin wax treatment to provide moisture for the hands and provides a special soybean hair removal service.

“I see the whole family,” Booker said of serving men, women and children. She regularly attends seminars and classes to keep current with the latest hair and beauty trends. Previously, Booker worked at several other Gloucester salons. She is originally from North Carolina.

She resides in Gloucester with her husband, J.C., who is a roofing estimator for a Chesapeake company. They have two daughters.
