Michael Burns CPA recently expanded its Gloucester office.
Owner Michael Burns of Gloucester said he now occupies two units of the Heritage House, located off Main Street behind the Morgan Building. Not only has he expanded his local office, but he has also made Gloucester his main office.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Kentucky. Originally from Hampton, he grew up in a military family.
In Gloucester, he is assisted by Kelly F. Callis, a staff accountant. Callis came to work for Burns in 2008, helping with tax preparation.
She has 16 years’ accounting experience, having also once worked for another Mathews accounting office and owned a bookkeeping business in Mathews for eight years.
Callis offers bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation and related services.
Originally from Mathews, she is a graduate of Mathews High School. She earned an associate degree in business at Rappahannock Community College, associate degree in paralegal studies at Ashworth College, and earned a certificate of accounting.
