Gloucester businesses eligible for county co-op funds

Gloucester businesses should consider applying for co-op advertising assistance to help them promote their goods and services during the 2017 holiday season, said Sherry Spring, the county’s director of economic development.

Spring said that this program is designed to provide assistance to small businesses with both advertising and promotional activities. All types of media, including newspaper, radio, television and social media, may be eligible for grant aid.

To be considered, the small business owner must have a one-year lease or own their building, a county incentive list said.

Funds will be allocated quarterly for this program, Spring said, so a merchant may actually receive help for more than the holiday shopping season.

Maximum quarterly grant of 25 percent or up to $500 can be awarded to a qualifying business, the rules indicate.
