The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold its first work session of the year Tuesday night, beginning at 7 o’clock, in the colonial courthouse. One of the main topics on the agenda is a discussion of a Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) Watershed Implementation Plan as it pertains to Gloucester County, according to assistant county administrator Georgette Hurley.

According to Gloucester’s director of public utilities Marty Schlesinger, TMDLs relate to clean up of the Chesapeake Bay and development of a method and schedule for restoring the bay by reducing the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and sediments that enter the watershed.

Other items on Tuesday’s agenda include a consideration of a resident’s request of road abandonment of Ginny Hill Road near Pinetta; the Department of Social Services annual report for fiscal year 2011; a financial report for the county ending Dec. 31, 2011, and a discussion about an upcoming board of supervisors’ to...
