A large number of citations for speckled trout have been issued recently to Gloucester fishermen, according to the Dec. 3 post of vasaltwaterjournal.com. Local citation winners include: James R. Williams of Gloucester, 6-pound, 6-ounce fish, caught Nov. 23 in James River;Jay Brown of Hayes, 6-4 fish, caught Nov. 22 in the James; Robert F. Flippin of Gloucester, 25-inch fish, caught and released Nov. 19 in the James; and another 25-incher, caught and released in the James on Nov. 18; Keith Nuttall of Gloucester, 6-pound, 6-ounce fish, and a 26.5-inch fish, caught and released, both on Nov. 17 in the Chesapeake Bay; Davonte Griffin of Gloucester, 24-inch fish, caught and released Nov. 9 in the Piankatank River; Billy Flippin of Bena, 5-pound, 2-ounce fish, caught Oct. 18 in Rappahannock River. Also, Stephen Field of Gloucester won a citation for an 11-pound, 8-ounce sheepshead, caught Nov. 18 at York Spit Light....
