Gloucester angler registerschain pickerel catch

Julianna Woolley of Gloucester has registered a chain pickerel weighing 4 pounds, 1 ounce, in the Trophy Catch Submissions registry of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. Woolley caught the fish on March 7 in Beaverdam Reservoir. Four pounds is the minimum species weight to qualify. Trout slam In other news, DWR announced the Virginia Trout Slam, a challenge to anglers to catch all three species of trout (Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout) all in the same day. Both stocked fish and wild fish of any size count toward the slam, DWR said. Once anglers complete the slam, they are asked to submit their catch to the DWR Trophy Fish Program, via Go Outdoors VA....
