Julianna Woolley of Gloucester has registered a chain pickerel weighing 4 pounds, 1 ounce, in the Trophy Catch Submissions registry of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. Woolley caught the fish on March 7 in Beaverdam Reservoir. Four pounds is the minimum species weight to qualify. Trout slam In other news, DWR announced the Virginia Trout Slam, a challenge to anglers to catch all three species of trout (Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout) all in the same day.
