Gloucester adopts CodeRED Alert System

Gloucester County has a new system to alert residents to impending danger and update them during emergency events. The county recently enacted its CodeRED Alert System, which gives Gloucester County officials the ability to deliver messages quickly to targeted areas of the county.

 

The system, provided by Emergency Communications Network, LLC, gives those who want to be included an easy and secure method for inputting information. Data collected will only be used for emergency notification purposes, according to Garrey Curry, Gloucester’s interim emergency management coordinator.

 

Upon registering through the county’s website, www.gloucesterva.info, residents will have the opportunity to register their landline or cell phone numbers to correspond with their primary address that will also be entered in the system.
