Glen James Collins, 70, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

He was born in Clear Creek, W.Va. and was the son of the late Donnie Shelton and Mary Loretta Fraley Collins.

He worked for many years in the Maple Meadows Coal Mine in West Virginia and retired from Fleetwood Mobile Home in North Carolina.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Jim Collins. He is survived by his children, Ginger Doss, Donna G. Collins Parks and her husband Tim, Karen Collins, and Glen James Collins II; his sisters, Joyce Scott and her husband Jerry, Linda Carr and her husband Garland, and Peggy Carr and her husband Darrell; his grandchildren, Steve Wesley Blankenship Jr.; Stephanie Nicole Vanhoudt, Shawn Eric Blankenship, and Brandon Lewis Collins, his great-grandson, Caleb Reed Vanhoudt.
The family received friends at Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in Clear Creek, W.Va., on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Collins Family Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Renal Center in Gloucester.
