Gill to address aeronautical group

Rusty Gill, who leads maintenance at Hummel Field, will share his experiences at the Middlesex County airport at the next meeting of the Northern Neck–Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society.
The monthly buffet lunch meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Pilot House Restaurant in Topping, adjacent to Hummel Field. The program begins with a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m.Gill, an airframe and engine mechanic, operates ICS Service, an aircraft maintenance company, at Hummel. He will share his stories in his more than 25 years in aviation.
Joseph Mortati was the group’s September meeting speaker. He explained his team’s “Search for Owl 08”—two American Air Force F-4 Phantom jet fighter pilots MIA in Vietnam in 1971—and the effort to find where their aircraft likely crashed.
