The Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation recently awarded scholarships to two students who meet the requirements of either being Gwynn’s Island residents or having a direct family connection to the island. Madeline Miller received $1,000 and will attend the College of William & Mary to study marine biology after she graduates from Mathews High School next month, while Isabella Hudgins, a 2021 MHS graduate, received $500 toward her pursuit of a nursing degree from Rappahannock Community College.
