Westville Baptist Church, located on Main Street in Mathews, recently voted in Paul Gibson of Mobjack, a longtime Mathews resident, as its new pastor.
“God has blessed our church family and the community with the leadership of a man who loves and serves God,” church deacon and administrator Janice Bohannon commented.
Westville Baptist Church has recently signed a lease with the newly formed Mathews YMCA Preschool. “This is an opportunity for Pastor Gibson to plant a mustard seed into the young children’s hearts and souls, that will prayerfully one day grow, flourish and bless the children with the desire to know God and to worship Him,” a release stated.
Gibson volunteered much of his youth at nursing homes, spending time with seniors listening to their stories, and helping to brighten their day. He attended numerous churches throughout his journey to Mathews, where he resides with his wife, Gale, and enjoys spending his spare time with his daughters, grandchildren, and his mother.
