Several athletes from the Gloucester High School track and field team recently competed in the VHSL Region 3A/4A and Class 4 state championships. Region Hannah Mullis placed second overall in the girls’ shot put finals with a mark of 37-9.5. Also competing for Gloucester were Aaliyah Smith-Boone (24-1) and Jazmine Foster (22-3). Avalynn Hutton took third in the girls’ 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:35.51. Also competing for GHS was Rachel Blittle, who finished the race with a time of 5:57.62. Austin Halterman placed fourth overall in the boys’ discus finals with a mark of 121-11. James Dubay (116-7) and Mohamed Erraji (102-7) also competed for Gloucester. Deziray Bellinger took fourth in the girls’ 100-meter dash with a time of 12.71. Amari Hunt (14.01) and Rhykeesia White (14.33) also competed in the event.
