GHS swimmers beat Hampton

Gloucester High School swimmers bested Hampton on Jan. 24 at the Holland Pool at Hampton University. The Gloucester boys won, 71-21, and the GHS girls won, 58-12.

In results for the GHS boys, Jacob Trist, Colin Goetz, Hunter Lempka and Jack Jenkins won the 200-meter medley relay in a time of 2:13.02 with Hunter Emanus, Colin Hansford, Seth Craig and Conner Pham right behind them in second place in 2:16.66.

Pham won the 200 freestyle in 2.22.92, Jason DeGraw won the 200 individual medley in 2.14.13, Jax Knott won the 50 freestyle in 24.89 and Jacob Raines was second in 24.90. Raines won the 100 fly in 1.05.54 and Lempka was second in 1.13.73.

Knott won the 100 freestyle in 56.27 with Brandon Goddin in second place in 1.00.30. Knott, DeGraw, Goddin and Raines won the 200 freestyle relay, DeGraw won the 100 backstroke in 1.02.42 and Emanus was second in 1.21.16.
