GHS standout gets first collegiate hit

Eastern Mennonite University freshman Brett Lindsay recorded his first collegiate baseball hit and RBI against North Carolina Wesleyan College on Friday. Lindsay is a 2017 graduate of Gloucester High School.

The Royals of EMU had taken an early 2-0 lead in the first inning before Lindsay stepped to the plate and sent a line drive to right field to score Adam Marston and extend the lead to 3-0. 

The Royals would go on to win 4-1 in the second game of the three game series. EMU went 1-2 in the three-game set, dropping game one, 2-0, and game three, 4-0. Lindsay started all three games and handled all of his defensive chances at second and third base. 

The Royals play at Southern Virginia University today before hosting doubleheaders with Juniata College and Penn State Altoona on Saturday and Sunday.  ...
