GHS senior starts in business at just the right time

Christopher Potter started his business, Potterwood Lawncare in January. Potter decided to start his business after years of performing lawn care services under his grandfather. Potterwood Lawncare services Gloucester County and its neighboring areas. 

A Gloucester High senior, Potter has spent the last two years maintaining people’s yards and cutting their grass, under the direction of his grandfather, Robert Holt. Potter, now 18, decided to continue his work by starting his own business as his senior project. When starting Potterwood Lawncare, Potter “interviewed other business owners and had a mentor for that process.”

Potterwood offers services that range from grass cutting, to bushhogging with other miscellaneous services in between. Potter uses a “1952 Ford 8N tractor with bush-hog, zero-turn tractor, string trimmer and many other yard tools.”Potter charges each job on a case by case basis and does free estimates so the customer always knows what they’re getting. “I ...
