The Gloucester High School cross country teams head to the Region 5A Cross Country Meet at Bells Mill Park in Chesapeake on Wednesday, Nov. 1. 

The Gloucester girls’ team took second place in the All Peninsula District Meet held Oct. 18 at Newport News Park. Alyssa Lass led the girls and was second overall in 20:25. 

Menchville took first place in the meet with 21 points, followed by Gloucester with 56, Bethel with 92 and Kecoughtan with 105 in the 10-team field. 

The Gloucester boys were third overall, led by Joshua Shackelford in second place in 16:29. Conner O’Beirne was ninth overall in 18:02. 

Menchville won the boys’ race with 22 points, followed by Kecoughtan with 56, Gloucester with 61 and Bethel with 107.  ...
