GHS grads off to good start with EMU softball

Gloucester High School graduates Emma West and Courtney Hall have gotten their freshmen year with Eastern Mennonite University’s softball program off to a good start.

West recorded her first collegiate hit in her first college at-bat with a single to centerfield against Castleton University on March 1. She went three-for-four in the season opener.

In the 6-5 win over Gwynedd Mercy on March 3, West led off the second inning with a long blast over the right centerfield fence for a solo home run. She finished with two hits in the win.

In a 3-1 win over King’s College on March 4, West had two hits for her third multiple-hit game during the Royals’ eight-game spring break stay in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
