GHS golf ranking second in Peninsula District

The Gloucester High School golf team had a busy August, competing in five matches. After the first month of play, Gloucester ranks second in the Peninsula District.

At Gloucester Country Club Aug. 4, Blake Sibley led Gloucester with a 39, followed by Andrew White (40), Gunner Healy (41), Camden Richardson (47), Wyatt Lawson (47) and Carter St. Claire (51). Gloucester finished second to Menchville at the match with total scores of 167 and 150, respectively.

Gloucester played Aug. 9 at the Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk. Healy led his team with a 79, followed by White (82), Sibley (84), Lawson (84) and Richardson (92). Menchville bested Gloucester again with a final score of 301. Gloucester finished the match with a 329.

At the Aug. 17 match, Gloucester played at Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club in Smithfield. White had a 76, followed by Healy (78), Sibley (83), Lawson (88) and Richardson (89). Gloucester finished second with a 325.
