GHS field hockey team honored by supervisors

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team was honored by county supervisors Monday night with a resolution recognizing the girls’ 23-0 run to the 5A State Championship this fall.

The resolution was read by Gloucester Board of Supervisors’ chairman Ashley Chriscoe during the board’s joint meeting with the Gloucester School Board at the T.C. Walker Education Center.

The team members and their coaches were each presented with a copy of the resolution and received a standing ovation from those in attendance.

Following the presentation, acting county administrator Sanford Wanner and school division superintendent Walter Clemons each outlined the short-term priorities for the supervisors and school board, respectively.
