GHS field hockey posts five shutout wins

The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team posted five shutout wins this past week of game play.
York
The Lady Dukes defeated the York Falcons, 2-0, last Wednesday, Sept. 17, at home. Aaliyah Mattocks scored the first goal for the match, which was her fifth of the season. She was assisted by Hannah Symonds and Maddie Rowe. During the third period, Gloucester received a penalty stroke where Ady Jeffrey put the ball in the upper part of the net for the final goal of the game.
Addy Zabicki served as goalkeeper, recording multiple saves from the 11 shots that York took. Hailee Johnston, A.V. Wymer, Jenna Seaton, Charlotte Houtz and Ellary Miller were on defense and did not allow a single goal, while giving up five penalty corners.
St. Catherine’s
The Lady Dukes also defeated the St. Catherine’s Saints, 2-0, last Thursday at home. They took 17 shots, while only giving up six. The Lady Dukes also earned 11 penalty corners, while only giving up three.
