GHS Care Closet in need of donations in the new year

The Gloucester High School Care Closet is in need of both clothing and food donations when students return from winter break on Jan. 5. According to GHS special education teacher Sally Hartley, the number of weekly food bags sent home with students is growing quickly.
Items needed include spaghetti sauce and spaghetti noodles; canned tuna, chicken and ham; ramen and cup of noodles; SpaghettiOs and beefaroni; canned vegetables and fruit; non-perishable breakfast items (breakfast bars, oatmeal, individual boxes of cereal, Pop-Tarts, etc.); pudding cups; fruit cups; peanut butter; jelly; soups; rice; macaroni and cheese; stuffing; and instant mash potatoes.
The price for each student food bag is approximately $35. The school cannot accept any glass containers.
The care closet is also in need of leggings and/or sweatpants for both males and females sizes medium to 2XL....
