The new Dollar General Market on Twiggs Ferry Road in Cobbs Creek was bustling with activity Tuesday morning as it gets ready for its opening. Refrigeration company trucks were parked outside, employees and contractors were in and out, and a large sign out front proclaimed the store is now hiring. Employees said they couldn’t share any information about the opening date, but the store already has times posted online, suggesting it will be soon. Hours, according to the website, will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Dollar General’s public relations department said in response to an email that the store will have expanded produce, refrigerated and frozen foods, dairy products, and an assortment of fresh meats in addition to the general merchandise that other Dollar Generals provide. The top 20 produce items typically sold in traditional grocery stores will be offered, said the email, including lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, and more....
