Geraldine LoPiccolo-Barry was born in Manhattan, New York, on Dec. 20, 1949 to John LoPiccolo and Emilia LoPiccolo. Gerri went home to be with our Father on Nov. 18, 2018, having been the last of two other siblings, Michael LoPiccolo and Joseph LoPiccolo. 

Gerri was a mother to six children and adopted four other children. Mommy had an open-door policy like no other; anyone was welcome and would invariably leave calling her Mom. Mommy went home to join her parents, two brothers, and her two youngest sons, Anthony V. Cortes and adopted son, Anthony Gavin, and grandson, Keith Darryl Harper Jr. 

Gerri leaves behind her children and their families: John Anthony McAlexander and five children, Carrie Jackson and seven children, Jean Marie Harper and five children, William James Skeans Jr. and two children, Edgar Fernando Cortes III and three children, Philip Joseph Cortes and one child, Jason Garver and family Don Love and four children. She will also be remembered by her two daughters-in-law, Kimberly Stubbs Cortes and Maria Jose Cortes and her two children, and Mei Mei Love, and one son-in-law, Keith Darryl Harper Sr. 

Gerri was a sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to a gigantic family that is spread all across the country. The love she shared with everyone she knew was unconditional and meant something special for each individual she touched. Momma Gerri will be sorely missed by all, forever! 

The funeral arrangements were held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, from noon-2 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, 7192 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061. A reception followed from 2-5 p.m. at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
