Friday is the deadline to apply for one of this year’s Abingdon Ruritan Club scholarships.

The club will award a $2,000 two-year scholarship to a Gloucester High School or homeschooled senior who plans to attend a technical, vocational or trade school, or a community college for the purpose of getting a Career Studies Certificate, and a $4,000 four-year scholarship to a student who will attend a four-year college or university.

Students can view/download the scholarship criteria and form through their Naviance account or stop by the GHS Counseling office to get printed paper copies.

The criteria and application form are also posted on the club’s website at www.abingdonruritanclub.com.

To be considered for these scholarships, completed applications must be submitted to the school’s GHS Counseling office no later than 3 p.m. Friday. Applications from homeschooled students must be mailed to Abingdon Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 22, Bena, Va. 23018 and postmarked no later than Frida...
