Flowers from the Heart gives seed projects to local students

Students who are looking for something interesting to do over this unprecedented break from school can pick up their very own seed packet from Flowers from the Heart in Mathews.

The flower shop is giving out Seeds of Love, seed packets for kids stuck at home during the sudden school shutdown caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.

Flowers from the Heart got the idea from another florist in Maryland who created Seeds of Love. “We thought it was such a wonderful idea and easy enough for the kids to put together,” said Jo Schramm, owner of Flowers from the Heart. “Something to keep kids’ minds off being stuck at home and an earth science project to boot!”

Any student is welcome to swing by Flowers from the Heart and pick up a Seeds of Love project packet. Any grade level can participate but it is mostly geared to elementary and middle school aged students.
