Flotilla 66 prepares ‘cook out’for active-duty members

Despite the uncertainty with government funding for the U.S. Coast Guard, Mathews Flotilla 66 stepped up to show Coast Guard Station Milford Haven active-duty members that they care for their shipmates by hosting a “Cook Out “on March 26. Five Mathews Flotilla Auxiliary members prepared a barbecue menu of burgers, hot dogs, assorted side dishes of venison chili, mac and cheese, home-baked cookies, and soft drinks for 34 active-duty members of the Command Unit and the Aids to Navigation team at Milford Haven. “Thank you for the thoughts, this is so kind,” said Chief Adelene Drescher, Officer in Charge. “What the crew absolutely loves is when people come by and cook lunch for them.” The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the all-volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard directly supporting Station Milford Haven.
