FLORENCE CLAYTON ROANE ROBINS

Florence Clayton Roane Robins of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Oct. 1, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen Martin Robins; her parents, Florence and Frank Roane; her sisters, Lavinia Roane and Roberta Gayle; her brother, Doswell F. Roane, and her precious great-grandson, Camden Martin Adkins.

She leaves behind her daughter, Susan Robins Moffitt and her husband Steve; grandson, Steven Craig Moffitt Jr., and great-granddaughter, Annabel; granddaughter, Whitney Moffitt Adkins and her husband Brett; great-grandson, Blake, and many nieces and nephews.

Clay had a wonderful life with her husband always by her side. She and Martin had a great circle of friends to include Annie and Edward Leigh, Bill and Nancy McDaniel, Frances and Hersey Hogge, Jackie and Harry Soles, and Kitty Squires, with whom she and Martin had many great card games and many, many wonderful adventures together.

Clay was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church and sang in the choir there for many years. She played a major role in the raising of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which left them all rich with love.

Visitation will be held at Bellamy United Methodist Church on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, from 11 a.m.-noon, followed by the service at noon. Burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.
