Fishermen’s Museum to hold 2 summer camps

Kids can unleash their creativity at one of two summer camps at the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum Aug. 4-8.
Art camp, for kids ages six and up, will be from 10 a.m.-noon. A maximum 10 children will be accepted.
Boat model building camp will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., with a 30-minute break for lunch (bring your own). The minimum age is 10. A maximum six children will be accepted.
Each camp is $100 per child.
Shauna McCranie, a retired art teacher, started the art camp two years ago when she became executive director of the museum.
Art campers’ projects in previous years have included painting the houses on Main Street, taking a pontoon boat ride to paint the landmark Morris-Fisher stack and a fish boat from the water, making fish prints and using quick-drying modeling clay to make a diorama of sea life creatures. All the finished art goes home with the campers.
