Fish are biting at Beaverdam Reservoir

Anglers have done well in Beaverdam Park this month, according to park ranger Elizabeth Keefer.Largemouth bass have been caught in the reservoir using both live and artificial bait. One angler caught a three-pound bass from the natural trail using a top-water frog. Another fisherman hooked a nice bass from shore using night crawlers.

Anglers in boats and other watercraft have reported catching bass, black crappie, yellow perch and bluegill. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. from May to Labor Day and has watercraft for rent and bait and concessions for sale.For more information, call the ranger station at 804-693-2107.
