First meet

The Gloucester High School boys’ and girls’ varsity swim teams competed in their first meet of the season Monday against Phoebus and Hampton. The girls came away with a win against both teams. Top points earners were Renner Andersen and Paige Willis. The Gloucester boys put in a lot of strong swimming. They beat Hampton, but came up short against Phoebus. Top points earners were Nate Carter and Camden Messner. Willis and Nate Quick are shown here cheering on their teammates Carter (in the water) and Brandon Carucci (on the block) during a boys’ relay event. Gloucester will compete next on Monday at Midtown Pool in Newport News and will face Woodside and Denbigh. Gloucester swimming is coached by Crystal Stocki and assistant Crystal Sterling.
