Two First Day interpretive walks are planned Sunday in Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, located at 3601 Timberneck Farm Road. The one-hour walks begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The guided hikes will start at the oyster midden, located just off the interpretive area parking lot at the beginning of the timeline. Guides will explain the history of the park and may hike the paths used by Virginia Indians who used the land.
Hikes are open to adults and children, with no parking fee applying. For more details call 804-642-2419 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
These First Day hikes are being conducted throughout the Virginia state park system. For details on other events on Sunday, visit dcr.virginia.gov and click on state parks.
