The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution granting a 90-day extension for taxpayers to pay certain supplemental real estate tax bills, during its meeting Tuesday night in the colonial courthouse.

York district supervisor Carter Borden originally brought up the matter earlier in the fall, saying that several people had contacted him claiming they had just received tax bills from the county for improvements done on their properties during or before 2008.

Board members agreed last month to move forward with a resolution for the extension. The resolution approved Tuesday states that the original payment period created an undeserved hardship on those taxpayers receiving supplemental tax bills for tax years 2008-2011 for omitted real estate taxes for improvements constructed in or before 2008.
