ELEANOR W. LEIGH

Eleanor W. Leigh, 86, of Gloucester, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

She was born in Waupun, Wis., to the late Simeon and Elda Witt, and was the widow of Harry Scott Leigh. Eleanor had worked in several of the local banks as a teller. She was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church, the XYZ Club of the church, and was a charter member of the Women of the Moose.

She was preceded in death by her eight siblings. She is survived by her children, Danny Scott Leigh and his wife Doris of Newport News, Va.; Bruce Simeon Leigh and his wife Robin of Gloucester, and Jane Leigh Emory and her husband Lloyd of Peterborough, N.H.; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Bellamy United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo. Burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
