EDWIN E. LEE JR.

Edwin E. Lee Jr., 85, of Gloucester, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at the VA Palliative-Hospice Care Center in Hampton, Va.

He was born in 1930 to Edwin E. Lee and Sarah Francis Lee in Baltimore, Md. After graduating from VPI where he was a member of the Cadet Corps, Ed served his country as a First Lt. in the U.S. Air Force. He then went on to work for NASA as an Aerospace Engineer for 44 years.

Ed was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester, and St. Paul United Methodist Church, Susan, Va. He was always active in church work and loved teaching Sunday school. Ed was a member of the Mathews Ruritan Club, was involved with Little League Baseball, and had a passion for historic architecture.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Dianna Lee; daughter, Linda Lee Earl and husband Peter; sons, Charles Anton Lee and wife Kim and John Ferguson Lee and wife Leslie; grandchildren, Tyler Lee and wife Emily, Madeline Earl, Anne Carter Lee, Jordan Lee and Benjamin Lee; great-grandson, Jack Lee; brother, Alan F. Lee and wife Elizabeth; and sister, Barbara Jung, as well as nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Nagel and the Rev. DeDe Parrish, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester.
