A celebration of life service for Edward William Rice will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Rising Valley Baptist Church, James Store. He died Dec. 17, 2011.

Survivors include his mother, Mary King of Gloucester; father, Bennie Rice of Pennsylvania; brothers, Joseph Rice Sr. of Gloucester, Ronald Rice of New Jersey, and Bennie Rice of Texas.

Viewing will be held from 10-10:45 at the church. The Rev. Darry Echols will conduct the service and burial will follow in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
