Does kayaking on a quiet meandering river through a Bald Cypress swamp sound like a great way to earn continuing education credits or professional development points? If it does, then the DREAM program may be for you. In addition to hands-on learning and lively discussions with environmental educators, participants can earn these credits and get paid for their time. The Friends of Dragon Run Educational Outreach committee is seeking applications from educators (private, public, homeschool, middle school, high school and college) for the Dragon Run Environmental Academy Mentorship (DREAM) program, which will be held on July 29-30 along the Dragon Run near Mascot in King and Queen County. This is a two-day, grant-funded initiative, which includes kayaking, nature hikes, water-testing, macroinvertebrate investigations, and classes on watersheds and wetland habitats.
