By tradition, the Gazette-Journal gives its “Readers Write” space on Thanksgiving Day to our readers who tell us what makes them thankful.
We receive interesting, often moving, stories each year. We have received bunches of letters from school classes and from nursing homes. We hear from familiar friends and new friends as well.
We have entered the time of year to take stock of what we have. The Rev. Dr. Ed Jordan, in this week’s Lifelines column, said “We harvest the crop we plant. If we don’t plant seeds, we can’t expect a harvest. We get the same kind of product as we plant. If we plant tomatoes, you will harvest tomatoes, not cucumbers. The seeds you plant determine what will be there at the harvest. The more seeds planted, the greater the harvest will generally be.” As you reap, so shall you sow.
What are you harvesting this year to make you thankful? Please let us know.
To be included in our Thanksgiving issue, please have your submission to us by the close of business on Friday, Nov. 22. Express yourself fully but concisely, within 250 words if possible.
You may email your comments to editor@gazettejournal.net; fax them to 804-693-3101; mail to P.O. Box 2060, Gloucester, Va. 23061; or drop them off at either our Gloucester office (6625 Main Street) or Mathews office (28 Court Street). For more details, call 804-693-3101.
We hope to hear from you.
