Editorial: Obama, Bush are right

Not our way, they say:

Two former Presidents from different parties issued remarkable rebukes last week … not naming names, but apparently directed at the present incumbent of the White House, aka Tweeter-in-Chief.

Barack Obama, campaigning in Virginia for the worthy Ralph Northam, Democratic candidate for governor whom we endorsed months ago, said in Richmond: “If you have to win a campaign by dividing people, you’re not going to be able to govern them … Instead of looking for ways to work together to get things done in a practical way, we’ve got folks who are deliberately trying to make folks angry, to demonize people who have different ideas, to get the base all riled up because it provides a short-term tactical advantage.”

George W. Bush said, “Bullying and prejudice in our public life sets a national tone and provides permission for cruelty and bigotry …” and he held up for the light one foundation block of America: &ldqu...
