A juggernaut of support is building behind the idea that Sunday hunting’s time in Virginia is now. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries got behind the concept last year. A Facebook page has hundreds of friends. People in high places, such as former Del. Albert Pollard, have written columns of support.

And Del. Michael J. Webert, Republican from the 18th district (Rappahannock County and parts of Fauquier, Culpeper and Warren), has introduced a bill that would, after generations, remove the ban on Sunday hunting. Specifically, the bill would allow Sunday hunting "on private lands with permission of the owner of such land." Other delegates and senators have introduced similar measures.
