The Mathews Community Easter Egg Hunt was held on Saturday morning on the Mathews Court Green. Children lined up for the 11 a.m. to find as many of the 5,000 eggs that were scattered on the green; in less than five minutes, they were all gone. The annual event was sponsored by the Tara M. Plotino Memorial Fund and the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center. Above, 8-year-old Finlay Gonski (at left) and others quickly gather all the colorful candy-filled eggs.
