Dukes tied for first in PD with 9-1 record

The Gloucester High School varsity Dukes are tied with Woodside for first place as the second half of the Peninsula District baseball schedule gets underway. Both teams have 9-1 records.

The Dukes got their ninth win Tuesday as they delivered a 17-run shutout at Heritage. Jordan Harvey got the pitching win. At the plate, Derek Poole had three hits while Anthony Morande, Adam Baldwin, Brian Belvin and Justin May had two each. May also tallied three RBIs.

Gloucester beat Bethel, the only team with a win over Woodside, 13-3 on Saturday. Michael Clements got the win on the mound at GHS. Belvin and Poole had three hits each and Matthew Contreras, Harvey and Morande had two each.

 

Gloucester shut out the visiting Warwick Raiders 9-0 last Thursday as Jacob Brown improved to 4-0 on the mound. Baldwin contributed two hits and four RBIs and Belvin had two hits and two RBIs.

Clements, Tyler Wood, Morande and Poole all had hits, Clements scored three runs and Poole scored twice....
