Dukes suffer setback on soccer field

The Gloucester High School boys’ varsity soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night, falling to the Kecoughtan Warriors, 2-0. The loss comes after a hot start for the Dukes who are now 3-1 on the season.

On March 31, the Dukes beat the Bethel Bruins, 4-1, with two goals coming from Kohlby Wilson and one goal each from Ashton Williams and Kollen Wilson. Corey Skay and Dylan Hearon each recorded one assist.

On March 20, the Dukes beat the New Kent Trojans, 3-2. Kohlby Wilson scored twice in the match and Williams scored once. Wilson, Skay and K.J. Wolford recorded an assist each.

Gloucester’s first win on the season came on March 13 against the Hampton Crabbers, winning 2-0. Wilson and Gavin Blanks scored the team’s two goals.

The Dukes will hit the road for their next game on April 11 as they travel to Woodside High School, Newport News.
