Dukes’ baseball at 6-1 halfway through season

The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team has reached the midpoint of its season, currently celebrating a 6-1 record overall and 5-1 in the Peninsula District.

The team suffered a tough match against Woodside on April 14, falling to Wolverines, 8-2. The Dukes previously beat the Wolverines on April 12, 8-2.

Despite this one setback, the Dukes have been victorious in every other game of the season. Gloucester beat Hampton on March 15, 11-0; Essex on March 21, 8-7; Bethel on March 22, 5-0; Kecoughtan on March 29, 7-5; and Kecoughtan on March 30, 14-0.

The Dukes are scheduled to play Heritage on Friday and Denbigh next Tuesday, both of which are home games with start times of 4:30 p.m.
