120 YEARS AGOThursday, January 4, 1906from the Mathews Journal The Grace Sunday School exercises were held in Grace Church, Mobjack, last Saturday evening at 6:30. The recitations, which were all rendered by the little “Tots” of the school, were perfectly and sweetly done, and the music, led by our gifted townswoman, Mrs. V.H. Machen, was grand and soul-inspiring. Altogether it was a very enjoyable occasion. On Christmas Day Mr. B.W. Foster gave a ducking party on his gasoline launch to a party of young people, consisting of Misses Frankie Davis, Carrie and Eva White and Messrs. Willie Aldrich, Maurice Davis and Lonnie and Ben Foster. The party started at 9:30 in the morning from East River, from there they went to North River and then out in the Bay, returning at 3:30 with 15 ducks.
