Dragon Run cleanup

The Friends of the Dragon Run will hold a trash cleanup at the three bridges along the Dragon Run on Wednesday, March 18, beginning at 9 a.m. The sites are: the Jimmy Morgan Bridge (Route 17); the Teta Kain Nature Preserve (Route 603); and Wares Bridge Road (Route 602). FODR’s Trash Wrangler Mark Alling prepares the area with caution signs along the roads and provides all the tools (fluorescent vests, gloves, bags and pick-up tools). Participation is open to all. The volunteers will gather at the parking lot at Rappahannock Community College, Glenns. “These cleanups make a significant and immediate impact toward preserving the health of the Dragon Run and all who live in the waterway,” a release stated. A sign-up for the event is available on FODR’s website, www.dragonrun.com. If you have questions, contact Alling at loraxmark@gmail.com.
